Navigating Life's To-Do List: Finding Focus Amidst the Chaos

[Sitting in Lassens Natural Foods and Vitamins, enjoying a warm breakfast sandwich on brioche, hash browns swapped for avocado.]

vendredi vingt septembre deux-mille-vingt-quatre

Whew! We’re already about to have to pay rent again in a week? Me oh my, that time knows how to fly.

Knowing this, why oh why do I sit around watching it go by?

The list of items I ought to have completed yesterday only has grown longer and longer for a tomorrow that never comes.

YOU CAN’T DO IT TOMORROW, B!TCH — TOMORROW DOESN’T EXIST! WHAT DON’T YOU GET?

I make myself sick. A couple of my girlfriends, both from Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills (one a former co-worker and the other a former client), have implied that that’s exactly what I may be.. sick.. ADHD. Ever considered ritalin? But, I’m hard-headed, me. I refuse to look into getting a diagnosis. It would be a waste as I wouldn’t believe it anyway and I for damn sure wouldn’t let myself need medication.

I’m fine.

I’m well.

I’m always well.

⚡ Biker Babe Quick Tip: Struggling to stay focused? Break tasks into manageable steps and treat yourself to a bike ride to clear your mind!

IBS is different. I accepted that diagnosis from my medical doctor team. (I still refuse the medicine they prescribe). I’m not delusional, I can’t will myself to close my bootyhole when those loose bowels are bound to come out bathroom visit after bathroom visit in a few-hour time span; I can’t say I’m not swollen and backed up then magically watch my body cavity deflate and chocolate covered raisin pellets dropping into the toilet turn into a smooth turd mid-struggle. (Practicing an active lifestyle and following an anti-inflammatory diet, as well as keeping stress levels low, I can prevent the frequency of, however..). In the midst of my irritable bowels flaring up, I can’t will them into acting right. Trust me, I’ve tried, calling on The Lord many of times.

The workings of the mind are different. At least, that’s what I hopelessly choose to believe. My mind can will my mind into moving (into focus). I’ve gotten hold of the reigns before, that’s how I know it’s possible, then that b!tch gets loose and it’s hard to wrangle her again. Where are you? What are you doing? Why are we sitting here watching time go by?

  • send 10 selects to photog

  • video interview for LOD FA

  • reply to PR company about interviewing their client

  • write/record end V.O. for 1st weekly vlog from last summer

  • post SEO-friendly blog (at least 2 atp.. it’s Fri. bih)

We’re not going to write the other lingering task that I feel terrible about, to not overwhelm myself and throw the whole list out. These lil’ 5 items are easy when you look at it on paper. Very do-able. 2pm now, no reason I can’t do 4 out of 5 before nightfall. Let’s see.

[Closes little white notebook and begins to make my way back to my house.]

How many items from the list do you think I completed before nightfall? If you guessed… shoot, I can’t even come up with a sassy and/or appreciative something to say about taking a guess.. ‘cause it doesn’t matter what we guessed.. none, bih, none. That’s how many. Fck.

We’ll talk more tomorrow (the next post), for now.. Since I was eating at Lassens Natural Foods while penning this in my little white notebook, here are some bike routes I’ve found for you near Lassens’ location inside of Lakes at Thousand Oaks shopping center in the thick of the Thousand Oaks area aroundLA.

Riding Out

Ugh. Heads pounding a bit, not in an excruciating manner, but in a “I’m over this, go lay down” manner. Click on any of the route names above to open it up in Strava and view rider-uploaded images.

I really need to create and publish two more blog posts before hitting the hay because this one only makes for the second of this week and I’d told myself that I’d post 4 pieces of content to one of aroundLAwithTK’s platforms per week over a 12-week time span. It’s the end of week 5, I’m not even halfway through and a b!tch is muhfuggin’ skrugglin’! I ain’t lying, sh!t got damn, I ain’t lying.

I’ll have to send that Trump Administration supporters form to Marcus tomorrow (or at some point this week), and if I flop again, that foolish man that y’all might let lead our nation again is going to get financial backing from my account that can barely afford to have my own back. Whew child, I can’t afford to mess ‘round and make Marcus mail that self-imposed punished for not meeting my content strategy goals weekly. More than the money, it’s the principle — I don’t want to give a red cent to that man (and his father before him) that has robbed the working class to fatten the stacks he sits upon as a billionaire. Ain’t no fckn way bih, ain’t no way. Drake says Girls Love Beyonce, and that they do, but I wouldn’t even give Cash Grab Carter a dime of mine and she’s a Black woman, so you know for damn sure I’m not trying to be f’d in the aye by any other wealth-hoarding capitalist. Mm mn. No, no.

Get on your, sh!t, my baby, get on your sh!t. I promise you can do it. You did it for 4 whole weeks without failing. You can do it again.

Okay, it’s approaching 1am and my automatique alarm is set for sunrise.. I may push it back..

Okay, let me go, child.

Thank you for riding, riders.
