If you're someone who loves an active lifestyle, Hilltop Coffee Shop is the perfect spot for you to bike to. You can enjoy delicious coffee and food while also taking in the stunning scenery of Los Angeles en route to the coffee shop on your bike. In fact, I recently visited Hilltop Coffee Shop on my bike as part of my brand's mission to promote an active lifestyle around LA. My blog brand, aroundLAwithTK, encourages people to explore Los Angeles by bike and experience the city in a unique way.
As I arrived at Hilltop, I wasn’t necessarily greeted with a warm welcome from what I’m sure is usually a friendly staff, but I didn’t hold it against them. The artistic space, with artwork and graphics on the wall, made it a great place to relax and unwind after a long bike ride. I ordered a chai latte and almond butter toast, both of which were less than exceptional, but once again, I didn’t hold it against them. The iced chai tea latte tasted more like mildly flavored ice water, and they were being rather stingy with the almond butter on the almond butter toast. I drank and ate all of it anyway because I paid for it and was raised by a grandmother that’ll go upside your head for wasting food. We’ll say it wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t to the best of my liking; maybe it was a healthy (reduced potency) version of things.
From what I’ve read, the coffee beans are ethically sourced from all around the world and roasted locally to produce the best flavors. The food is made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and there are vegan and gluten-free options available as well. Regardless of perfection to my tastebuds, it was a great refuel after a morning of biking.
One of the things that sets Hilltop apart is its community focus. The coffee shop hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including live music, poetry readings, and movie nights. Hilltop also partners with local artists and organizations to showcase their work and raise awareness for important causes. The space is warm and inviting, with plenty of seating options, both indoors and out. It's a cool place to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done.
In conclusion, Hilltop Coffee Shop is a hidden gem in Los Angeles that's worth checking out for anyone looking for a unique coffee experience. The community focus and commitment to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients sets Hilltop apart from other coffee shops in the area. If you're an active lifestyle enthusiast, it's a nice place to refuel after a long bike ride around LA. So next time you're in the View Park-Windsor Hills neighborhood, be sure to stop by Hilltop and experience it for yourself.
